The team of Ukrainian professionals from the organisation ‘Ukraine Culture Now’ based in Sweden, together with scientists, are preparing the significant 1st international conference (this time online), entitled ‘Ingegerd Olofsdotter and Her Succession: Great History of Sweden and Ukraine,’ which will be held on Friday, January 26th 2024 in Zoom.

The deadline for the 300-word book chapter abstracts as conference presentation titles will be November 30, 2023. Please send your 300-word abstracts here. The authors of the chosen abstracts will receive the letters of acceptance.

As a historical result of the conference, we would like to prepare the resolution on restoring historical justice to Ingegerd Olofsdotter and her heritage. We shall ask the Swedish museums to change all the guides of Sweden and beyond, the information about the Swedish and Ukrainian great-daughter, and the place of her burial because her skeleton was, is, and will be in Kyiv, in the biggest and the most beautiful cathedral of the Ukrainian capital, Saint Sophia, built by her and her husband Jaroslav the Wise in the XI century.

As an academic result of the conference, the edited book on Ingegerd Olofsdotter and Her Succession, edited by Oksana Koshulko, collected from the chapters of the conference participants on the topic, will be published in 2024 in the UK at the Publishing House of Transnational Press London Ltd. in Greater Manchester in English. Later, this edited book will be re-published in Swedish in Sweden, and it will be one of the first edited books on the way to restoring the historical justice concerning Ingegerd Olofsdotter and her heritage of the XI-XXI centuries.
